MAN v FAT is a partner with Northampton Saints

MAN v FAT, the UK’s leading male weight loss programme, has teamed up with Northampton Saints to support men in the city to take steps to improve their health and wellbeing.

Having supported tens of thousands of men to lose nearly 1,000,000 pounds since it began in 2014, MAN v FAT has picked up the oval ball in 2024 to spread the word about male well-being.

Saints are set to become the first rugby union team to join MAN v FAT Rugby, with the club set to debut in March at the Northampton Saints High Performance Centre.
Carl White, MAN v FAT Rugby Leader, said: “We can’t wait to bring MAN v FAT Rugby to Northampton. To have a club of the caliber of Northampton Saints as our first rugby union partner is fantastic!

“The city is known for its rugby from a first team perspective as well as the great work Northampton Saints do in the community, so we are looking forward to starting in March 2026.”

“An added bonus to the partnership is the fact that the club will be operating from its own High Performance Centre, and I’m sure this will tempt a few players to dust off their boots and get involved,” he added.

Northampton Saints have an extensive community programme, supporting a range of impactful initiatives and the team there are delighted to add MAN v FAT Rugby to their mix.

Jamie Higgins, Inclusion Officer, said: “The Northampton Saints community is proud to partner with MAN v FAT Rugby to deliver the MAN v FAT weight loss and wellbeing programme.

“This initiative slots strongly into our inclusion programmes, reinforcing our commitment to improving health and wellbeing. By combining Rugby Strength with structured weight management and mental health support, the program provides a comprehensive and supportive environment that helps men make positive and sustainable lifestyle changes on and off the field.”

Having launched a number of clubs at the end of 2024, MAN v FAT is already seeing widespread success in club rugby too – and Carl is confident that similar feats will be achieved at Northampton: “MAN v FAT Football succeeds thanks to a strong community feeling and we know that community is why rugby clubs thrive across the country.

“We have already seen some strong friendships built at our primary rugby clubs and we look forward to seeing this demonstrated at Northampton too.”

As with MAN v FAT Football, rugby participants must be 18 or over with a BMI of 27.5 or above to start. More details about the program and how to register can be found at www.manvfatrugby.com.
