Love & Lemon Cooking Club – February!

Join the Love & Lemons Cooking Club challenge this month! It’s easy to enter, and one lucky winner will receive a prize. Find all the details below.

Our Cooking Club is a fun way to celebrate our community of Love & Lemons readers. The concept is very simple – each month, I choose a recipe. You make it, and leave a comment on the recipe blog post. At the end of the month, I randomly select one winner to receive the prize.

I love the feeling of community that comes from so many people cooking one recipe each month. We’re kicking off our February challenge today with a French toast recipe, and I hope you’ll join us in the fun. Here’s how it works:

Join the Love & Lemons Cooking Club

  1. Each month, I choose one seasonal recipe. Sign up for our email list so you know as soon as I share a recipe each month.
  2. Make this recipe during the month.
  3. Leave a comment on the challenge recipe blog post by the end of the month. This time, the deadline is February 28th!
  4. For a reward, send a photo of your creation to cookingclub@loveandlemons.com.
  5. For another bonus, post your photo on Instagram, tagging it @loveandlemons And #loveandlemonscookingclub.

Prize: $100 Whole Foods gift card!

At the end of the month, I’ll randomly pick a winner and share some of your photos. This time, we’re giving A $100 Whole Foods gift card.

Additionally, for every entry we receive, we will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry.

Dip bread in egg mixture to make French toast

Last February, we made these pancakes, and they were one of our most popular Cooking Club Challenges ever. So, this February, we’re going to stick with the cozy breakfast theme and make French toast!

You have two fun options:

  1. Make classic French toast with egg custard batter.
  2. Make vegan French toast using almond milk and cornstarch dough.

I make them for my family all the time, and I think they are equally delicious!

Add fresh fruit and maple syrup (or strawberry or blueberry compote) for the perfect weekend breakfast.

Last month’s recipe

With the cold snap hitting almost everywhere in the country last month, our white bean soup is the perfect choice for the cooking club! If you’re planning to keep this in your rotation for the rest of the winter, here are some swaps and add-ons our readers will love:

  • Vegetarian sausage (from Jenna)
  • potato (From Stacey + Megan)
  • red wine (from Debbie)
  • Parmesan peel (from Sarah + Naomi)
  • Shiitake mushroom (from mile)
  • Sun dried tomatoes (from Donna)
  • Red lentils (from Rebekah)
  • Kidney beans plus white beans (from cation)
  • Mayocoba beans instead of white beans (from terry)
  • Herbs of Provence instead of rosemary (from lassie)
  • Fennel instead of celery (from Jane)

Thank you all for cooking along! Here are some of your pictures:

And congratulations to our winner, Haley!
